Precisely Abstract | July 3-31, 2020 | Allied Arts, Bellingham, WA

Allied Arts of Whatcom County’s 2020 presents, Precisely Abstract. The exhibit will showcase abstract, multi-media artwork from local artists David Syre, Christopher Morrison, Kevin Coleman and Mitchell Van Duzer.

David Syre will be represented with a selection of his latest works.

David Syre makes colorful, acrylic paintings that are inspired by travel, his subconscious mind, and nature. His artwork is spontaneous and utilizes bold colors, brave lines, and the use of symbols and numbers alongside original images. Syre’s work has been showcased internationally and closer to home, at the Gallery Syre in Bellingham.

Christopher Morrison uses glass art to address environmental concerns through his work, incorporating beautiful pieces of birds, butterflies, and more. His studio in Bellingham is home to large signature sculptures and classes, production, and special events. Christopher’s sculptures have been showcased in public and private collections around the world.

Kevin Forrester Coleman utilizes sculptural and textural techniques to create sharp contrasts that provoke feelings of intensity through several different mediums. Coleman creates photo realistic work with inspiration from artists like Salvador Dali and Georgia O’Keefe. He’s a self-taught painter with extensive experience in many mediums such as murals, sculptures, interior design, and more.

Mitchell Van Duzer is based in Bellingham and creates bright acrylic paintings that explore the impact of technology on modern society. He is a graphic designer and professional artist, as well as a published writer. His paintings focus the relationship between human and technology while maintaining a beautiful sense of the natural world.

For the health and safety of their patrons and staff, Allied Arts will not be holding an opening reception for this exhibit. Allied Arts is a non-profit gallery, all proceeds from sales go towards supporting the arts in thier community.
