The southernmost extreme of Argentina inspired David Syre to create the artwork that, today, tells us a story and sets a dialogue between nature and his curious spirit.
His paintings, drawings and sculptures chart his path. They are the language used to show humans the importance of self-recognition as part of the indivisible whole and, thus, to reach enlightenment.
The artwork itself is not always the goal but the consequence of a thought, a feeling, a desire. For years, David´s objective has been to immerse himself in the search for personal knowledge. Each of his exhibitions is the result of that process.
His drawings in particular show his perceptive spirit. Sometimes, just by using a few, but firm, lines he creates expressive images. Other times, his chaotic, energetic, almost confusing and disturbing strokes, bring us close to the surreal world. Yet, we face no absolute chaos, his images end in a balance that does not alter the observer but activates curiosity.
In his paintings, the juxtaposition of shapes and colors create special atmospheres born from a dialogue between the subconscious and the composition itself. Some of his works bring us close to another state of consciousness, to oneiric, archetypal images which look for the essence. For example: he paints stepladders that elevate our spirit towards illumination; circles that enclose what is being created; light that springs from the core. All this is David´s spiritual and optimistic vision of human beings seen as individuals, who, despite their many flaws, are on their way to perfection. David´s art does not arise from reason but from a visceral emotion that is the essence of his Being. Ultimately, his art is the reflection of his inner search.
